Top 10 Digital Marketing Tips For Access-Based Persons, Businesses and Organizations

An image shows a person working at a desk with a stylus on a tablet, surrounded by floating, semi-transparent data visualizations, charts, and graphs that depict various percentages, pie charts, and bar graphs. These digital elements, appearing as if they are projected in the air, include colorful graphics with sections marked by percentages such as 75%, 80%, and 25%. In the bottom right corner, there is a blue accessibility icon featuring a stylized figure in a wheelchair. The background is slightly blurred, focusing attention on the digital interfaces and the worker's hands.

Hello everyone. My name is Aaron Di Blasi and my company, Mind Vault Solutions, Ltd., specializes in funding, growing, sending and maintaining world-class, legally compliant email newsletters.

As of this writing we publish three weekly newsletters, Top Tech Tidbits, founded in 2004, currently serves over 22,000 readers per week, Access Information News, founded in 2022, currently serves over 21,000 readers per week, and AI-Weekly, founded in 2024, currently serves over 25,000 readers per week.

👉️ Founded in 2004, the Top Tech Tidbits newsletter is the world’s leading not-for-profit access technology publication that reaches over 22,000 blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, neurodivergent and/or disabled professionals, educators and enthusiasts, all over the world, each week.

👉️ Founded in 2022, the Access Information Newsletter is the world’s leading not-for-profit access information news publication that reaches over 21,000 blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, neurodivergent and/or disabled professionals, educators and enthusiasts, all over the world, each week.

Below are the Top 10 Digital Marketing Tips that we believe will help you most as a person, business or organization that serves the blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, neurodivergent and/or disabled communities. These tips are derived from my personal dialog with thousands of readers and hundreds of sponsors during my time serving the access community through these newsletters, and other access initiatives since 2004.

This list is not exhaustive and focuses primarily on the digital marketing tools that our publications offer. However, it also provides essential information to help you increase your exposure to the access community at large, with both free and low-cost options provided.

♿️ 1.) Subscribe To Receive Free, Current Access News and Trends Each Week

The very first step is to stay informed. The very best way to do that today, purely by audience size, is by subscribing to the Top Tech Tidbits (Thursday mornings) and Access Information News (Monday mornings) weekly newsletters. More than 40,000 weekly readers combined count on these two weekly newsletters to keep them up to date on what’s going on the access community.

♿️ 3.) Be Sure To Submit Informative and Educational News Resources for Free Publication

If you are a person, business or organization that produces news and/or educational resources for persons who are blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, neurodivergent and/or disabled, we encourage you to submit those items to us as they are released, to be considered for free publication.

Anyone can submit an item for free publication. All free submissions must be voted on. In order to be published, two out of three of our Editors must approve the submission as being (1) timely and (2) of use to the access community. When posting for free our Editors reserve the right to edit and choose which publication your submission will run in, based on its content. With access technology being the focus of Top Tech Tidbits, and general access information being the focus of Access Information News.

♿️ 4.) Include A Publication Date and/or Last Updated Date With Every Article You Publish

The great date debate. I’m so sorry to have to say this folks, but I’m going to say it anyway. There is no debate anymore. The matter has been settled. Definitively. Posts that do no provide a date no longer get published. And that’s a real shame because we move past some really well crafted articles that I think readers would find really informative simply because they do not include a date on the post itself. If you do this, please hear this, you are only limiting the amount of exposure that your articles receive. Evergreen is the myth that never was. No information can survive without updates. If your content is truly “evergreen” it will contain both a “Published On” date as well as a “Last Updated” date somewhere on the post. Articles that do not include publication or last updated dates can no longer be trusted as being current enough for publication. So, to make sure that your articles receive maximum free exposure in our publications, and elsewhere, always be sure to include a publication date and/or a “Last Updated” date within each article.

♿️ 5.) Include A “Read Online” Link Atop Every Newsletter You Publish

We don’t just promote current and informative access news articles for free every week, we also promote other access newsletters as well. We even have a section dedicated to them at the end of every newsletter. But if you don’t include a link to your newsletter on the web, then we can’t share it with others. So always be sure to include a link to the web version of your newsletter atop every newsletter that you publish. This way we can share it with 20,000+ other readers that might just decide to become subscribers themselves.

♿️ 6.) Track The Traffic That Your Links Receive In Our Publications

Whether we publish a link to a domain that you own for free, or as part of a paid advertisement or sponsorship, you can track the traffic generated by that link for all time from inside of your very own Google Analytics account.

♿️ 9.) Secure A Low Cost Sponsorship With One Of Our Publications When They Are Available

For just $100 a month (as of this writing) you can reach over 20,000 access-specific subscribers with your chosen message every week. ♿️ Bonus Tip: Troubleshooting Newsletter Reading Issues With Screen Readers

Email clients display HTML differently than web browsers. Screen readers add another level of HTML code interpretation. Sometimes the “layering” of these interpretations can cause display issues for screen readers. If you experience this, try reading the newsletter in your web browser instead, assuming it provides an online version, which it always should for maximum accessibility.
