An Invitation To Experience The Future of Assistive Technology

Greetings everyone. My name is Aaron Di Blasi, and together with Dr. Kirk Adams, we would like to invite you to join us on LinkedIn on June 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM PT for a real-time demonstration and discussion of ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode (AVM), centered around persons who are blind or low-vision. Brought to you by the Supercharge Your Bottom Line Through Disability Inclusion monthly LinkedIn webinar, hosted by Dr. Kirk Adams.

The Killer App

It is my personal belief, as a sighted individual that has served blind persons for more than 20 years, that ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode is currently THE killer app for the blind. A bold claim I know. Which is why I don’t expect you to take my word for it. That’s why I’ve commissioned one Dr. Kirk Adams to help me talk about all of the many ways that we both use this technology, sighted and blind, to accomplish many of the same tasks. There are other technologies like it, but here at Mind Vault Solutions, Ltd., we have found AVM to have the best overall quality.

The Current State of the Technology

While AVM currently leads the industry with less than 300 ms latency, full-duplex “over-talking,” rich emotional prosody and GPT-4o reasoning, the rest of the market is catching up fast. Google (Gemini Live / Project Astra), Microsoft (Copilot Voice), Anthropic (Claude Voice), Meta (Meta AI app & Ray-Ban glasses), Amazon (next-gen Alexa), Apple (incoming ‘Apple Intelligence’ Siri), SoundHound Chat AI, Perplexity Voice and Character-AI Calls all offer real-time or near-real-time spoken LLM experiences, each with its own blend of strengths. But none yet matches AVM on the full quartet of speed + turn-level emotion + vision grounding + 40-language coverage, though several come surprisingly close in just one or two dimensions.

ChatGPT AVM Pricing and Availability

Another factor that makes trying out AVM difficult are the current usage limits applied by OpenAI:

🤖 ChatGPT – Free Version: As of this writing, the free tier of ChatGPT only allows a limited 10-15 minute daily preview of AVM that uses GPT-4o Mini instead of GPT-4o, which does not provide the same experience.

🤖 ChatGPT – $20 / Month: As of this writing, the $20 / month version provides full access to AVM powered by GPT-4o, but unspecififed daily limits apply, with users receiving a notification when 15 minutes remain. Upon reaching the limit, the session ends, and users can switch to Standard Voice Mode, which does not provide the same experience.

🤖 ChatGPT – $200 / Month: As of this writing, the $200 / month version provides full access to AVM powered by GPT-4o with no daily limits. Yes indeed. You read that right. Single conversations are limited to one hour, but there is no limit to the number of conversations that you can have. And this, my friends, is where the true power of this killer app really kicks in.

Hey Siri: What Happened To Apple?

Imagine the Siri or Alexa of your dreams. Seriously. What would that conversation sound like? I’m willing to wager that it would sound an awful lot like an AVM conversation. Every voice assistant provider in the world is trying to get this right right now. But in our humble opinion, one provider already has. And we invite you to join us to hear it for yourself.

What Can It Do?

We’re not just going to talk about the cool stuff. Stuff like reading the “tone” of your “emotion” during a conversation to identify stress, unhappiness, frustration, agitation, happiness or delight, and then responding to that emotion accordingly in real time. Stuff like interrupting the assistant whenever you like. Stuff like instant translation into 40 different languages. Stuff like automatic, real time transcritpion of every word that you and the assistant speak. Right there in ChatGPT when you’re done. Stuff like real-time captions for the deaf. Stuff like starting a “broadcast” so that AVM can see whatever is on your phone, and talk to you about it. Just think about that for a second. Stuff like opening up your video camera while in “broadcast” mode to allow AVM to “see” on your behalf, and both describe and answer questions about whatever your phone’s camera is pointed at.

Stuff like that.

What Else Can It Do?

In addition to all that, we’re also going to talk about how we use AVM for business productivity. This is, after all, a Supercharge Your Bottom Line Through Disability Inclusion Workshop. So we’ll also cover things like research, to-do items, task lists, instant transcription, translation and fleshing out and sharing ideas purely via voice in real time. Sound like a dream? Well, it is. Except it’s a dream that is here right now, and we’re inviting you take an inside look at it.

The Demo

While the Workshop takes place live on LinkedIn via Zoom, I will be using my iPhone 14 Pro Max during the Workshop to chat with AVM via the dedicated ChatGPT iPhone app. We are subscribed to the $200 a month ChatGPT Plan here at the Vault so we will be able to demo AVM for the full hour.

But I Can’t Afford $200 A Month

Even if you have no intention of ever spending $200 / month for this technology, you will want to experience this technology in action, because one day, very, very soon, this price barrier will come down, and when it does, there will be a race to master this technology. We hope to give you a head start with this Workshop.

Join Us

If you would like to ask questions during the Workshop, join us live on LinkedIn on June 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM PT. Otherwise you can pickup the recording and the transcript here.

I hope you’ll consider joining us as we explore the cutting edge of AI technology for the blind!
