“This is just the first of many initiatives for me of this kind,” says Donna Jodhan. “It’s all about making things better than possible, and my work with this camp is what it is all about.“
The EYE Retreat Camp is designed to equip blind and vision-impaired youth with essential skills for future employment and college applications. Donna’s involvement aims to enhance the camp’s offerings by providing specialized instruction in self-advocacy and entrepreneurship, thereby preparing students for a successful transition to adulthood.
Donna will conduct two-hour-long sessions each day from July 29, 2024 to August 2, 2024, focusing on self-advocacy techniques and entrepreneurial thinking as an alternative to traditional employment. These courses will culminate in student presentations, showcasing their newly acquired skills.
“I am thrilled to have this fantastic opportunity to engage with the future!” Donna exclaims. “Special thanks to Dr. Alan Chase for inviting me and to Janet Perez for connecting us.“
